EDM 310 has come to it's end! Boy am I glad!!!! I bit off a little more than I could chew this semester and I am very glad this is the final week! I am very thankful for the opportunity to continue learning and further my education, however for this semester, I'm glad this is it! :) So Good Luck to you Mr. Tashbin, I hope your future classes are as wonderful as class D was! :) To my class and classmates of the other classes Good luck to you all in your future endeavors. Good-bye to you also, Dr. Strange.

Final Blog

I am going to be perfectly honest about this blog. The instructions explicitly say to tell about your experiences. My first thought is that I really feel like this class was a "self teach" class. Yet we still had to come to class. I was looking forward to it because the students who took it semesters before said they learned a lot. I feel like what I did learn was from being repetitious or having no choice but to ask others and teach myself. Which was kind of a let down considering most of the criteria is much of what I want to incorporate in my future classroom. With that being said, I did learn about blogging, which I had never done before now. I learned how to communicate with other teachers and students all over the world through blogging. Not to mention, following blogs as part of my PLN. I will continue to blog and incorporate it into my own classroom one day. I did sign up for a wiki- space and participated a few time but I doubt I will continue doing so. The presentations were pretty much the same as doing a power point presentation except for the fact that it is stored in your google docs. The podcast, honestly I did not care for. I did like the Comments for Kids because it reminded you of how innocent children's mind's are and how much they are learning and how much they have to be proud of. However the Comments for Teachers, i could live without. The comments for classmates was a joke sometimes because more weeks than not, I had nothing to comment on. Many students did not complete their blog assignments on time in order for us to complete our comments for them. I did use iTunesU, because that was involved in our podcast topic. Google forms is a neat feature although many classmates didn't participate. Google Earth was very interesting to me and I am sure I will use it in my classroom. I am very excited to actually. There are so many things and ways to teach and use Google Earth in the classroom for any subject.
I am not really sure how and if this class changed me as a professional. I feel like most of what I learned was taught by me so it was the way I had to learn, not the many ways to teach it. I felt very rushed in this class and like I couldn't really get the point before we were on another project. It was scattered and I feel like all the teachers were not on the same page. I tried and did give it my all and I have spent a lot of time on my work for this class. I am thankful for what I did learn because it was more than i knew prior to the class. Am I a Technologically Literate student? Yes, I would say medium level. I've always been the type "if I don't know the answer, I will find it" so I feel like I will be okay and continue to teach myself through trial and error.
